Our guiding spirit late Mr. P K Ali Pillai was born in 1915 in a typical village, with none of the characteristics of a town. After completing his schooling at Perumbavoor, his passion for education led him to U C College, Aluva, 18 kilometers away from his home. Mr. P K Ali Pillai won his B.A. Degree in 1937.

After graduation, he worked for a while at the Government Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram. His passion for knowledge prompted him to go for further studies and he joined Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram, from where he won his BL Degree in 1939. He was appointed as Agricultural Income Tax and Sales Tax officer in the year 1950. Thereafter he got a promotion as Appellate Assistant Commissioner. He was a member of the Agricultural Income Tax and Sales Tax Appellate Tribunal for some time. After retirement, he enrolled as an advocate in the year 1971 and practiced in the High Court for a few years. The spark that was there in that great mind continues to light the paths of generations.
